Are there tools that can help generate citations and bibliographies?
Answer
The internet has many tools for generating citations and bibliographies, and they are not all created equal. Whenever you're using a citation generator, it's important to read over the citation because there are often small formatting errors. In particular, check the title capitalization, page range, and author name. These are the main parts that generators mess up.
Here are a few citation generators:
Zotero
Zotero is a citation manager and generator. It creates really high-quality citations and you can generate a full bibliography page with this tool. We have created a Research Guide to help you get started with Zotero.
Database Citations
Many databases will generate citations for articles. JSTOR, Academic Search Premier, ERIC, and many other databases will create citations. As mentioned above, be sure to double-check the accuracy of these citations. They are a good start, but always need to be reviewed.
