What is a peer-reviewed article?
Answer
A peer-reviewed article has gone through a process of evaluation from scholarly reviewers who are experts in their field. These reviewers examine publications for quality and adherence to the editorial standards of the journal before articles are accepted for publication.
Please note that while all peer-reviewed journals are considered scholarly, not all scholarly articles come from peer-reviewed journals. Just because an article was not published in a peer-reviewed journal, does not automatically mean that the article has no scholarly merit.
We recommend carefully evaluating all sources to not only determine if an article is scholarly, but also whether it is current and relevant to your research.
